Having the ingredients or this smoothie handy in your fridge or freezer, makes it easier to choose this instead of an unhealthy option. I’ve found making dinners or snacks on one day during the week so that they’re handy to grab or make up for the rest of the days when you don’t feel like going to much trouble to eat healthy.
I’ve added a few extras to this recipe to make it more filling and find it gives me great energy for the rest of the day. I’m sure that’s what we’d all prefer, especially for busy days.

Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need for this easy green smoothie recipe :
- 1 cup romaine/cos lettuce
- 1/2 cup baby spinach (I didn’t have any this time so omitted)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 – 1 avocado depending on size
- 1 Handful of fresh mint (sometimes I use dried mint if I don’t have fresh)
- 1 cup filtered water
- 1 tablespoon of seamoss
- 1 tablespoon of hemp protein powder
- 1 heaped teaspoon of maca powder
- 1 blender
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Gather All Ingredients
Put all ingredients into the blender and blend for about 5 minutes until smooth.
2. Storage
I like to store it in a jar that’s about 650g/ml. That size takes me about 2 meals for lunch. It does freeze as well if you want to have it later. You can store it in the refrigerator for a few days.
Recipe Tips & Variations
Dr Gundry’s original recipe doesn’t include seamoss or maca powder, but also includes ice cubes so it’s cold after blending and includes stevia drops. I found I didn’t need the stevia drops as it was great flavour as it was.
